hydroxyproline level when the alkaline phosphatase level is of the order found in this patient. Further evidence of normal bone metabolism was obtained from the normal hydroxyproline excretion. There was no laboratory evidence to suggest hyperparathyroidism. The normal galatose-l-phosphate uridyl transferase level ruled out galactosaemia. Though a diagnosis of glycogen storage disease was considered, no confirmatory laboratory evidence was found. The high serum alkaline phosphatase level in this boy has not been explained.

The immunoglobulins, complement components C3 and C4, lymphocyte subpopulations, and K-cell activity were studied in 13 children with anaphylactoid purpura and in 12 children of the same ages who acted as controls. The children with anaphylactoid purpura had significantly lower T-cell counts, greater K-cell activity and IgM values, and lower C3 levels than the controls.
